I love books. I’m always reading something, or multiple books at once. And I’m always collecting new books, so I got a new one tonight called The Mayan Prophecies for 2012 by Gerald Benedict. Obviously, I love stuff like this. Most people familiar with astrology know that we are at the cusp of the age of Aquarius, moving out of the age of Pisces (determined by an observed pattern in the movement of constellations), and this movement of the universe is typically interpreted to have significance to human spiritual evolution as well. The Mayans were very advanced at recording the cycles of the stars and predicted great change to come. Interesting indeed!
from the inside dust cover:
A cataclysmic change to our way of life is looming as the winter solstice of 2012 heralds the end of the 5,000-year Mayan “Fourth Age.” With its conclusions we will either see the end of the world as we know it, or the dawning of a new golden age.
Radical change is a theme that runs through all the Mayan prophecies, though the actual outcome lies in our hands. Will we bring about the destruction of the Earth or will we finally awaken from our spiritual amnesia?
Challenging us to make real changes in our lives now, these ancient prophecies are a wake-up call for everyone.
